How TV Influences In Fucked Up Ways
Well we went to court last Thursday for Thomas and they put him into a detention home while court is going on. They also made a suggestion about placement for him once court is done. His law guardian said that he's not a danger to himself or others...Thomas proved him wrong later that night.
We got a call about 9:30 Thursday saying that they were transporting him to the hospital because he tried to hurt himself. The home would have the hospital call if they admitted him so that we could sign medical release papers. Thomas said that he would do this if he was put away so we were prepard for his shit.
We then get a call Friday morning at 10:00 that we need to come to the hospital to talk with the doctor and his case worker. We had no idea that he was admitted, the hospital never called. So we go to the hospital at 11:00 and talk with the doctor who says that Thomas says that he has no hope and is going to kill himself but not before he douses his father with gasoline and sets him on fire. Now who the hell would want this kid back in their house? Now I'm worried for everyone's safety. So they put him on Zyprexa and Litium, diagnose him with depression, bi-polar and schizophrenia. The doctor is going to recommend when we go to court this Thursday that he be placed in a secured psychiatric facility and probation and the DA's department mentioned the same.
We find out when we get home that Thomas was lying to the doctor's the whole time. He told his brother that if he goes away he's going to hurt himself and lie to the doctor that he hears voices and that he's going to set his father on fire. Boy, those Law & Order marathons on A&E sure do get the brain going with some fucked up ideas. Mind you, he tried to choke himself with his own hands and we all know that it is impossible to do.
Well he just tied our hands. We were going to suggest that he come home on his meds, attend counseling and get drug and alcohol treatment and have a curfew. If he didn't comply then he should be placed. But with all these recommendations, we probably don't have much of a choice now.
Needless to say, the great state of New York will take us for child support, even though they will mandate him to go. His junkie mother, who acts like she gives a shit, doesn't work or get any kind of public assistance, so we will take the brunt of all the costs. Go figure, the story of my life. Thomas calls the house and demands clothes and wants to know what we got him for his birthday, which was Sunday. Tells his father to go fuck himself and that he doesn't need anything from anyone. But yet he'll call about 6 hours later demanding us to bring him clothes. Hubby still hasn't brought them up. He said until he calls and asks nicely he can go fuck himself. I totally agree with him. I told hubby that I will not visit him at all, his older brother mentioned the same thing as he is sick of his shit too.
Well court is next week and we should see how that goes and what transpires with all the shit that has happened.
